Anybody care about the share links?

I’m trying to simplify the post-download page, and I have a strong suspicion that nobody is using these share links. Anybody have strong feelings against getting rid of them?

    An option of ditching the post-download page and automatically shutting the tab after the download pops up would be great.

    @joe– As of the last release, you can switch off the post-download page. Just go to Tools > Addons > Skipscreen > Preferences and uncheck “ShareScreen”.

    We can’t close the tab automatically because we’re never sure when the download actually starts! And sometimes there are weird delays, so we want to be on the safe side.

    Instead of text, use the Twitter, Facebook, etc supertiny icons (like the NYTimes does)?

    I personally have never used it, but in the past if I had a file that I really wanted to share with someone I just gave them a tinyURL address. There’s my two cents…

    Personally I never use the social networking share links, so they wouldn’t be missed here. Thanks for a great little app!

    Actually, bookmarking service like Delicious is good and people may use it for bookmarking the URL! I dont care about twitter/facebook.. But EMail, Delicious are something I would love to have..

    Hi. I`ve got an idea for you. It`d impress users a bit.
    Theres needed one window where youll be able to put the list of links.
    It should be like that:
    -you paste list of links
    -selecting destination folder
    -enjoying your day doing other things

    @niko… so is it the choosing a destination folder that annoys you? Because you can kind of do that right now just opening up a ton of tabs. On sites that don’t support simultaneously dl’s (e.g. rapidshare) we already wait and reload until the download is permitted.

    Ohh I shouldnt been talking anything about simultaneus downloads and choosing destination because it completly blured the most important thing I wanted to say.
    I`d like to have a list o links. Lets take a look at this site:

    as you can easily see theres few of them. I have to go onto one of these pages – than skipscreen does its great work – I have to wait to the end of the 1st download, and… begin the second one, than wait, begin 3rd and so on.

    I`d like to paste those links into one separate window runned eg. by clicking: tools>skipscreen
    So only one thing i`d have to wait would be downloading of ALL of the links not any of them one by one.

    Working beautifully for Megaupload…

    but not for Rapidshare (at all).

    It never starts the download.

    I would like to be able to set a download location for multi part downloads

    eg. Rapidshare so they automaticly start – please

    ie I want open the multiple tabs and then leave it to do the rest .

    I need to have firefox set to “ask every time” where to put downloads

    When i go on media fire, it doesnt always work

    it will skip a screen for a url like:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?w24ndoaokuf

    but not for a url like:
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?w24ndoaokuf

    can you add this other mediafire please

    btw, i love this addon!!!

    don’t know where to put this, but mediafire has a secondary download link from people’s downlown list that doesnt go to the auto download —

    example: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3mnmwzjdimz

    instead of: http://www.mediafire.com/?ne0l5vmzmwe

    nope, never used them, and disabled the ShareScreen (lol camel case) right after the option was available
