I just nominated SkipScreen to be listed publicly on addons.mozilla.org. Hopefully we’re on our way out of the sandbox. We also have more than 5,000 downloads in 5 days. Woohoo!

We still need more detailed reviews though, so that the addons editors can see we’ve been thoroughly tested. Like, reviews that show a user systematically testing the addon on different supported sites and reporting back on what happens. If you can, please submit a detailed review.

I thought it might be handy to post some links for testing SkipScreen. Here’s a bunch:

Okay, so this cover has nothing to do with us, but I went to google looking for a hilarious Wired cover, and I found one.

Skipscreen is a free Firefox add-on for skipping the annoying pages and waits on sites like RapidShare, Megaupload, Mediafire, zShare, and more. If you download files from these sites, SkipScreen will save you lots of time. Try it out!

Right now Skipscreen is in the “sandbox” at addons.mozilla.org and trying to get out! Right now you have to log in to get Skipscreen.

Skipscreen is a Firefox addon that skips past annoying delays on so-called one-click hosting sites. Right now it works for all the sites listed here, with many more sites and improvements on the way.

“Skipster” would’ve been an awesome name too. But it was taken, and we like “Skipscreen”.
